It works for businesses whose address is part of what they sell: fashion houses that host buyers, architecture and interior studios that bring clients into a showroom, product and graphic designers who benefit from foot traffic during Dubai Design Week and the district’s year-round events calendar. The headline figure is the licence and registration under the Dubai Development Authority (DDA), the regulator for d3. It is the minimum you will pay. d3 does not run on the cheap flexi‑desk shell that budget zones use to hit a low price. An office is required and you take real space within the district. How d3 compares to the obvious alternatives

Against cost-first zones like IFZA or Sharjah’s SHAMS, d3 licenses the same design and fashion activities but costs multiples more once the mandatory office is priced in: you are paying for the address and the ecosystem, nothing else. If clients never visit, that premium is dead weight.
Against its sister TECOM creative zones: Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City, the licensing framework and DDA regulator are shared, so the real question is which district’s neighbours and events fit your niche. Choose d3 for physical design, fashion and architecture; choose the media zones for content, broadcast and agencies. If neither ecosystem is load-bearing for you, neither premium is worth paying.

Licence and establishment card
